Award for the 105th Academic Year Biomedical Journal Highly Cited Researchers by SCI-Indexed Journals

Biomedical Journal Editorial Board

Biomedical JournalOriginally known as Chung Gang Medical Journalwas established in 1977. It has continued to publish articles for forty years. Chung Gang Medical Journal was renamed as Biomedical Journal after we collaborated with international publisher Elsevier. In 2016 alone, our manuscripts came from over forty nations. We have been continuously receiving manuscripts from overseas researchers and scholars. Furthermore, self-calculated impact factor, according to the Web of Science database calculation, rocketed from 0.287 in 2007 to 1.325 in 2016. Base on the rate of improvement, it is impressive to see the quality of the journal continue to elevate.

In order to encourage the faculties of Chang Gung University and the doctors and scholars of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital to publish articles of the highest calibre, the Biomedical Journal Editorial Board holds the Biomedical Journal Award for Highly Cited Researchers by SCI-Indexed Journals annually in order to reward authors for their excellent work. In 2016, there were 29 applicants for the award. Among them, one article was cited by SCI-indexed journals as many as twelve times. As one can see, the articles of Biomedical Journal are well received.

A Biomedical Journal Editorial Board meeting was held on the 3rd of March, 2017. In the meeting, the topic of future development and growth of the journal was passionately discussed. We can optimistically expect the journal to be indexed by SCI. At the same time, the authors whose papers were most cited by SCI-index journals were awarded. This year, the top three contenders are as follows: Dr. David Ojcius (guest professor of Chang Gung University), Dr. Tiao-Lai Huang (doctor of the Psychiatric Department of the Kaohsiung Branch of the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital), Prof. Ching-jen Wang (honorary superintendent of the Kaohsiung Branch of the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital). They were awarded by Prof. Jan-Kan Chen, vice president of Chang Gung University. Some of the award recipients’ articles have been cited by prestigious journals with impact factors over 7.5. It is our hope to see Biomedical Journal keeps gaining global recognition and ultimately becomes indexed by SCI in the near future.
