The 2017 International Student Orientation

Center for International Academic Cooperation

The 2017 International Student Orientation was organized and hosted by the Center for International Academic Cooperation on the 13th of October in the Shengen Lecture Hall of the Management Building. Our vice president, dean of the College Medicine, dean of the College of Engineering, dean of the College of Management, faculty members and fellow senior international students warmly welcomed 34 new international students from India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Gambia, South Korea, United States, Canada, Germany, Poland, Israel, Argentina, Colombia, Uganda, Burkina Faso and Ecuador as well as the exchange students from Japan, France, Norway and other countries. For the 106th academic year, our international students come from 33 different countries, and they take up 2.6% of the entire student population of the university.

Vice President Prof. Jan-Kan Chen and Director of the Center for International Academic Cooperation Prof. Dah-Chuan Gong welcomed the new students on behalf of the university. They also encouraged students from different backgrounds to interact with each other, to appreciate the diverse culture on campus, as well as to enjoy their experience of studying here.

As an effort to accommodate the increasing number of international students in our university, the Center for International Academic Cooperation organizes the International Student Orientation every semester to facilitate the sharing of experience by senior students and promote the interaction between seniors and juniors. Through this event, new students would be able to adapt better to the living and study environment in our university.
