2017 Spring Welcome Party for International Students

Center for International Academic Cooperation

A welcome party organized by the Center for International Academic Cooperation for new international students was held on March 15, 2017. Vice president, deans of three colleges, faculties, and senior students all attended the party to welcome the 22 new international students, who are from India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Gambia. In the 2016 academic year, international students took up 2.7% of the entire student population in CGU. They come from 27 countries.

The welcome party began with the opening speeches by Prof. Jan-Kan Chen, vice president of Chang Gung University, and Prof. Dah-Chuan Gong, dean of the Center for International Academic Cooperation. They represented the university to welcome all new comers to study at CGU. It is exciting to have them joining us as well as sharing diverse cultures and experiences with us. We hope the time of studying at CGU will be one with pleasant memories for them.

Welcome party for new international students is held every semester by the Center for International Academic Cooperation. In addition to providing gourmet food, the Center also invited seniors to share their experience with new international students. The party provides a great opportunity for new students to meet with other students from all over the campus and exchange information about various matters. We hope such an arrangement will help them adjust to their new life at CGU.
