The subject rankings announced this round encompass five major fields - natural sciences, engineering, life sciences, medical sciences and social sciences, covering 54 subjects in total. More than 4,000 universities around the world participate in the ranking. The total number of papers published in important journals, the impact of paper standardization, the proportion of international collaboration papers, the number of papers published in top journals, and the number of authoritative awards won by faculty members from 2015 to 2019 were used to calculate the ranking. The index weight coefficients were different from subject to subject.
