Multiple Awards won by Chang Gung University in the 2016 NIAG & UVL
　

A total of 9296 contestants coming from 162 colleges participated for 15 competitions in the 2016 National Intercollegiate Athletic Games (hereinafter NIAG) at National Taitung University this May. Chang Gung University (CGU) had sent several teams comprised of women's tennis, women's tables tennis, men’s badminton, men's gymnastics, women's track and field, women’s swimming, and women's karate to compete for the crowns.
 

Women's Table Tennis team’s performance was outstanding this year. Both Women’s Team and Women’s Doubles played for table tennis won the 1st Runner Up in respective categories during the NIAG North Zone Table Tennis Qualifying Match hosted by CGU at the end of March, and gained their privileges to enter the national finals at National Taitung University in early May. With excellent skills and great understanding, Liao Xiaowen and Zhuang Jinxuan, who were representing the School of Nursing and the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine respectively, partnered as Table Tennis Women's Doubles and won the 2nd Runner Up from more than 70 participating teams in this national game. On the other hand, Women’s Team fought their best all the way and got the national seventh place.

Li Bolin, who is an Electrical Engineering student as well as an invincible winner of the NIAG Men's Artistic Gymnastics, participated in this year's Gymnastics Individual All-around competition and won himself a national silver medal award, as well as several medals from Artistic Gymnastics individual events.
　

Overall, the various sports teams attained remarkable results and unleashed their active spirit of winning glory for their alma mater during the competition, which resulted from their daily training. Impressive results from our women's sports teams included: national 5th place by Women's Volleyball Team in University Volleyball League (UVL), national 7th place by Women's Tennis Team in NIAG Women’s Tennis Team event, 4th place by Lai Xiaoqing representing the School of Medicine in the NIAG Women's 50m Backstroke, silver medal by Zhu Zhiping representing the School of Nursing in the NIAG Karate Women’s Kumite 50kg and et cetera.
