Chang Gung University and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Linkou Branch jointly held the “2022 Academic Conference of Chang Gung University and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Linkou Branch” in the first briefing room of the Medical Science Building of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Linkou Branch (simultaneously available via live stream) on the morning of September 17, 2022. The theme of this academic conference is “neuroscience”. This event drew nearly 200 participants.
This year, Prof. Chien-Tzung Chen, superintendent of the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Linkou Branch, Prof. Wen-Neng Weng, R&D director of Chang Gung Medical Foundation, CGU President Ming-Je Tang, CGU Vice President Chih-Wei Yang, and other directors from the hospital and the university were invited to provide guidance. The conference was chaired by Bertrand Tan, chairperson of the Department of Biomedical Sciences, and Professor Jin-Chung Chen of the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Sciences. A few experts and scholars in the field of neuroscience from Chang Gung University and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital were invited to give speeches. The speeches were successively delivered by Dr. Kuo-Chen Wei, deputy superintendent of New Taipei City Tucheng Hospital, Prof. Chia-Lin Wu, chairperson of the Department of Pre-Med, Dr. Rou-Shayn Chen of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Linkou Branch, Prof. Guo-Jen Huang of the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Dr. Kuang-Lin Lin of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Linkou Branch, Assistant Professor Ching-Chi Chiu of the Department of Medical Biotechnology and Laboratory Science, and Dr. Rong-Long Hsu of New Taipei City Tucheng Hospital. They shared their research and development experience in their areas of expertise in order to expand cooperation in related fields.
The purpose of holding the academic conference is to seek more opportunities for Chang Gung University and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital to collaborate as well as promote exchanges and development for both sides. We are hoping to combine the research capacity of the university and the clinical experience of Chang Gung Memorial Hospital to complement and support each other. If doctors encounter clinical difficulties, they can seek cooperation with university teachers who carry out relevant research to solve them. The theoretical and technical research results of our teachers can also be implemented together with clinicians to establish models to tackle clinical problems, accelerate research and development technology, verify research, and implement application, so that more favorable and substantive cooperation can be promoted.
After the conference, the management of both parties also exchanged their thoughts on topics such as smart healthcare, prototype product development, and medical material accreditation. The conference ended successfully with enthusiastic participation of the guests. Seven speakers shared their research experience and communicated with the audience. The management of both parties jointly negotiated and expanded opportunities to collaborate, hoping to combine the resources and research capabilities of both institutions, to work together to complement each other, and to move forward. We aim to create a new milestone in academic research and clinical medicine.
