The event covered speeches of Prof. Po-Hsiang Tsui, winner of the 2016 Ta-You Wu Memorial Award, Prof. Shin-Ru Shih, winner of the 2016 Outstanding Research Award of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Associate Prof. Chia-Lin Wu, winner of the 2017 Ta-You Wu Memorial Award, Prof. Kwang-Huei Lin, winner of the 2017 Outstanding Research Award of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and Prof. Hao-Li Liu, winner of the 2017 Outstanding Research Award of the Ministry of Science and Technology.  These distinguished speakers shared their comprehensive knowledge on various award winning research topics and extensive experience in research.

The speech topic of Prof. Po-Hsiang Tsui is Ultrasound statistical parametric imaging: History, vision, and social responsibility. He introduced the history of the development of ultrasound images, the visions and the invention of point-of-care ultrasound. He led lecturers and students to explore the mystery of ultrasound.

The speech topic of Prof. Shin-Ru Shih is Confronting ever-changing viruses.  She shared the latest research on the enterovirus EV71 and the development of antiviral drugs and vaccines through the exploration of pathogenesis. The Ministry of Science and Technology invited her team to exhibit the research results in the upcoming Science and Technology Exhibition 2018.

The speech topic of Associate Prof. Chia-Lin Wu is Deconstructing Drosophila memory from genes to neural circuits.  He studied the neural circuits and molecular mechanisms during the process of brain memory formation by using the Drosophila model. During the speech, he illustrated his research results vividly by using the fruit fly thirst experiment.

The speech topic of Prof. Kwang-Huei Lin is Tumor suppressor role of thyroid hormone receptor in liver cancer. He explored how to use the concept of "addition" to conduct cross-domain integration and innovation research, and to introduce the signalling mechanism of thyroxine regulatory genes in cancer cells.
