Prof. Wen-Piao Lin said that Ibis is a pioneer and model of the teacher-student entrepreneurship of Chang Gung University. We are here to witness the breakthrough and innovation of Chang Gung University in the medical biotechnology field. We also witness the spirit of cooperation between teachers and students, and with enthusiasm and courage, we turn technological research into a project of industrial value. During the project guidance period, the team members acquired the knowledge and skills of R&D and participated in the management of business. As university teachers, we are proud of the establishment of Ibis and looking forward to its progress in the biotechnology industry. One day, this company will become a shining star. Chang Gung University upholds its initial intention of cultivating high-quality talents and actively enhancing the entrepreneurial atmosphere of the campus. Every member of Ibis is inspired and nurtured in the high-quality entrepreneurial environment provided by the Center for Innovation and Incubation. Furthermore, the professional guidance of the International Smart Biomedical Industry Alliance also provides valuable resources and assistance for Ibis on the path to entrepreneurship.

Prof. Tsung-Hsun Hsieh, director of the Center for Innovation and Incubation, said that the Youth Development Administration of the Ministry of Education has actively promoted the “U-start Innovation and Entrepreneurship Project” in recent years, providing rewards to entrepreneurial teams, coordinating incubation resources of universities, and providing the youth with entrepreneurship resources. Ibis Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is a new company taking advantage of the resources of the University. The chairman of the board is also a master’s student at the University. The team developed the utilization of purified C-peptide antibodies to produce enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and applied it to the detection of diabetes. In terms of the technical aspect, the team has already entered into the stage of technical development under the guidance of A/Prof. Sheng-Chieh Hsu and Prof. Shih-Cheng Luo of the Department of Biomedical Sciences. When the start-up team was first established, they actively approached the Center for Innovation and Incubation of the University for cooperation and guidance. Under the guidance of the professional entrepreneurship teachers of the University, Ibis Biotechnology Co., Ltd. applied for the U-start project sponsored by the Ministry of Education and won the first stage of entrepreneurship fund of NTD$500,000.
